They are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to come on board that has recent experience in Big Data Development, but also experience with Traditional Data and Data Warehousing environments. My client are paying up to £90K for this position along with an attractive benefits package.
The role requires someone who can provide design leadership for the existing Data Engineers and to help guide their work, providing technical assistance where needed and someone who can review and verify the quality of the delivered work. This position also requires combining existing internal and external sources of data to construct higher order data structures that allow specialist Reporting, Analytic and Machine Learning teams to generate actionable intelligence for the wider business.
Extensive experience as a Data Engineer working with Big Data on premises and on cloud technologies (AWS)
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) – such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Fargate, SQS, SNS, ECS
Experience of engineering robust data flows with Python
Advanced ability as a Python Data Engineer, working with tools such as Pandas, PySpark, Presto and PyTest
Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
Practical knowledge of Agile delivery in a complex environment is preferred
Excellent communication both written and verbal
Design and shape the data processing and analytics solution based on Big Data/BI technology stack.
Assemble and present solution designs with deep technical details.
Work closely with the current Lead Architect and Infrastructure Engineers.
Document, communicate and review the Data Architecture and Architectural decisions.
Work within a team that are responsible for building tools and applications to aid the company’s research, Data Science, Machine Learning and Analytics.
Extracting data from source systems, transforming and loading it.
Collaborating closely with the global team, collecting emergent business needs and distilling technical requirements.
